Missed Out? KUCCPS Reopens KMTC Applications – Here’s Your Second Chance!

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has reopened its online portal to accept applications for Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) placements. This initiative aims to fill remaining vacancies in 21 KMTC courses for the upcoming March 2025 intake. The application window is open until March 4, 2025.

This reopening follows an earlier application phase that commenced on January 24, 2025, targeting 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidates for KMTC and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions. The phased application approach was introduced to align with the varying intake schedules of different institutions, ensuring timely student transitions. KUCCPS CEO, Dr. Agnes Mercy Wahome, highlighted that while universities and Teacher Training Colleges (TTCs) have intakes later in the year, KMTC and TVET institutions admit students in January, March, and May. This necessitated a phased application process to facilitate prompt college admissions.

Eligibility for the current application phase extends to Form Four leavers who sat for the KCSE examination between 2000 and 2024. Applications for degree programs and TTCs will be announced subsequently. Candidates planning to retake their KCSE exams this year will have the opportunity to apply for KMTC and TVET programs using their improved grades for the September intake.

Similarly, over 260 TVET institutions, including university-affiliated TVET institutes, national polytechnics, and other institutions under the Ministry of Education and other ministries, are available for application. Applicants are encouraged to select institutions within their localities to reduce living expenses.

Detailed application guidelines, available programs, and their requirements are accessible on the KUCCPS portal (students.kuccps.net) and the official website (www.kuccps.ac.ke). Applications must be submitted online exclusively through the KUCCPS portal. To assist applicants, KUCCPS officers are available at designated colleges and Huduma Centres across all 47 counties.
