Kiambu, Kenya – Police in Kiambu have arrested seven suspects accused of drugging a man, swapping his SIM card, and stealing Ksh.250,000 from his mobile and bank accounts.

According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the incident happened on Thursday night at an entertainment joint along Thika Road. The victim was reportedly enjoying drinks when he was targeted by the group.

How the Crime Happened

The suspects, four men and three women, allegedly worked together to carry out the crime:

Moses Munene Mwangi and Lephines Mwangi Mwai were responsible for fraudulently registering new SIM cards to replace the victim’s.

Isaac Kanini Mugo and James Omwenga handled the money transfers from the victim’s M-Pesa and Money Market Forex accounts.
