Malava Member of Parliament (MP) Injendi Malulu has passed away. Family sources confirmed that the MP died on Monday, February 17, 2025, while receiving treatment at Aga Khan University Hospital.
In January 2025, reports indicated that Malulu had been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a leading hospital in Nairobi. At that time, Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa assured the public of the MP’s stable condition, stating, “I want to assure our people that we have seen Honourable Malulu Injendi and he is recovering. Doctors have tried their best and they are continuing.”
Malulu was recognized as one of the most educated Members of Parliament, holding a PhD degree. He was first elected to Parliament in 2013 under the Maendeleo Democratic Party (MDP) . Later, he joined the Amani National Congress, which subsequently merged with the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
Malava Constituency, which Malulu represented, is one of twelve constituencies in Kakamega County. Established for the 1988 elections, the constituency has a rich political history .
The passing of MP Injendi Malulu marks a significant loss for the Malava community and the nation at large. Further details regarding funeral arrangements are yet to be announced.
