Kenya Railways has reiterated that all bookings for the Madaraka Express Passenger Service must be conducted exclusively through its official channels to ensure passenger safety and service reliability.
In a public notice issued on February 3, 2025, the corporation emphasized that passengers can secure their tickets via the following authorized methods:
1. Online Booking: Visit the official Kenya Railways website at www.metickets.krc.co.ke to book tickets.
2. USSD Code: Dial *639# on your mobile phone and follow the prompts to reserve a seat.
3. Physical Stations: Purchase tickets in person at any Madaraka Express Passenger Service station.
Kenya Railways has also clarified that all official communications will be conducted through the phone numbers 0709 907 000 and 0709 907 555. The corporation cautioned passengers against using unauthorized channels, stating it will not be liable for issues arising from bookings made outside these official platforms.
The Madaraka Express offers two classes of service:
Economy Class: Priced at KSh 1,000 per person.
First Class: Priced at KSh 3,000 per person.
Passengers are advised to arrive at the station at least one hour before departure to allow sufficient time for ticket verification and boarding procedures.
