One Canadian woman is yet to fully recover from the coronavirus as she has tested positive 8 times in 50 days.
Tracy Schofield from Cambridge, Ontario, stared experiencing symptoms back on March 30. She reported having fever chills, a headache, and difficulty breathing. A day later, she got her first COVID-19 tests which came back positive.
This saw her isolate herself at home for two weeks with her 17-year-old son there to help her. Her symptoms got worse during the isolation period as she reported having higher body temperature and losing her sense of smell and taste.
As expected, Tracy went back to get tested to see if she had fully recovered but the tests still remained positive. This repeated tested went on up to test #8 which came back negative.
I cried because I was so happyTracy Schofield
Only one more test stood between her and being declared fully recovered. Patients must receive two negative results within a 24-hour period before they are declared negative.
Schofield was swabbed for a ninth time, and once again she tested positive for COVID-19. She is now worried that the disease could cause long-term problems for her.
I just want someone to be able to tell me something. Give me an answer. Am I going to have it forever?Tracy Schofield
She now has to wait for another three days before getting tested for the 10th time.
