Who is Willis Raburu?

The 10 over 10 host and media journalist Willis Raburu has been making headlines for the better part of 2020 for the wrong reasons. It began with him losing his child at birth that made him stop hosting the popular late-night show for some time. He is now back with new reports suggesting that he is now seeing a Ugandan lady after separating with his wife, Marya Prude.

Born on 1st April 1987, Willis was brought up in a staunch Christian background at Kano, Kisumu County. He was the third child of the four siblings in his family.

He went to Aga Khan Primary School in Kisumu and later joined Chemelil Academy High school where he passed his KCSE exams. Willis then joined Moi University to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Science.

It is said that his father wanted him to pursue IT but Willis had a passion for media. This compelled him to lie to his father that he was studying IT but was actually doing media. His father then came to realize the degree he was pursuing during the graduation ceremony in 2010.

He soon got a job at Royal Media Services where he still works to date. Willis currently hosts Citizen TV’s morning show and the infamous 10 over 10 show which airs at 10 pm every Friday.

Before exchanging vows with Marya Prude, Willis was dating Sally Mbilu in 2014 and even proposed to her. They parted ways in 2016 which saw Sally returning the ring that Willis bought for her. Rumours suggest that she left because he was not able to manage his weight while other reports suggest that he discovered that she was older than him by 5 years.

Willis then met his current Marya Prude Ngami at Jubilee Christian Church through a friend. They later walked down the aisle in an invite-only ceremony in 2017.

Their marriage has seen some really low points such as that of losing their child at birth. He wrote to his close friends that his wife got into labour to deliver baby Adana into the world but had complications and pushed out a stillbirth.

There is no easier way to say this. God called our little baby angel, Adana, home. We got into labour but there was some complications and a clot so we pushed out a stillbirth! My angel is on the other side looking over us and we will do her proud.

The passing of his daughter, according to Willis, has shattered his heart into several pieces and the pain he feels is immeasurable.

Recent reports have emerged that the couple have separated after Willis reportedly cheated on his wife for a Ugandan lady. The couple is reportedly living separately in different apartments.
