It has been seven years since Size 8 made her shift to the gospel industry. Many were not convinced by her shift when she released her first gospel song “Mateke”. She now explains that God has been faithful through the years and is still going strong.
Size 8 was born on 4th August 1987 named Linet Masiro Munyali. She was raised in Maringo Estate in Nairobi County in a family of seven. She is the sixth child of Samuel Munyali and Esther Njeri.
Linet attended Dr Livingstone Primary School where she topped in her class in the KCPE. Her excellent performance saw her get a scholarship in State House Girls.
Size 8’s entry into the local scene began after she was discovered by Clemo, co-founder of Calif Records. She was later signed on the record label and released songs such as “Shamba Boy”, “Silali”, nd “Vidonge”.
Her shift to the gospel industry came in 2013 with her releasing the highly successful single Mateke. It was also in the same year that she got married to Samwel Muraya (DJ Mo).
According to DJ Mo, he met Size 8 through a friend and became good friends. He said that he mentored her in matters of salvation.
She’s an exceptional person, and I remember even when she sang secular music; she always had this immense desire to be born again. She kept telling me that she loved God so much and that she wanted someone to help bring her closer to God.DJ Mo
The couple has a daughter named Ladasha Belle Muraya, born on 19 November 2015. Her son Muraya Junior was born in 2019.
