Wetangula Rejects Proposal to Conduct COVID-19 Vaccine Tests in Africa

Bungoma Senator Moses Wentagula has condemned a proposal by some European scientists to conduct COVID-19 vaccine tests in Africa.

The proposal was initially suggested by French doctors who said that Africa was the best continent for the vaccine samples as it was incapable of fighting the virus.

It has since made people express their anger on social media platforms with the #AfricansAreNotLabRats trending on Twitter. Netizens even went ahead to show statistics of the number of deaths worldwide with Africa having the least number. There are currently over 1 million infections of the COVID-19 worldwide.

Wetangula took to his Twitter to plead with African leaders to reject any attempt to use African people as guinea pigs.

The epicenter of COVID-19(Coronavirus ) is China, Italy, Spain, France, US. Clinical trials on its possible cure must start there and not in any African country. African leaders must resist any attempt to use our people as Guinea pigs.
