With more than a decade rocking the entertainment scenes, Tanzanian crooner Diamond Platinumz reached the pinnacle of his career after having his total views on YouTube amass to 1 billion.
He now becomes the first African artist to attain the hallmark, having the likes of Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido towing on him with their views reaching hundreds of millions.
Diamond joined YouTube back in 2011 before becoming a citadel in the East African music industry. Close to a decade, he now boasts of more than 3.6 million subscribers.
On the channel, the Yope remix which he did with Innos B from Congo is the hit with most views, having a deficit of only 7 million views to hit 100 million. Yope as at now stands at 93 million views since its premiering in September last year.
The WCB team had a perfect way to celebrate the achievement. They caught on Diamond unawares in his mansion, sharing a cake with other players in the team to celebrate the milestone.
Present were Zuchu, WCB’s new signee, managers likes of Babu Talle, Said Fella, Ricardo Momo, and Fumbwe among others.
