A South African media outlet has reported a cash theft case that happened in a town outside Johannesberg, the perpetrators disguising themselves as Covid-19 health officers.
The cartel comprised four men who got into Checkers Supermarket in Pietermaritzburg and were seen in protective gear.
One of them was holding a file thus creating a perfect impression of health practitioners coming into the supermarket to inspect its preparedness in tackling the disease.
They did not fire any shot despite being armed but succeeded in making away with 200,000 South African Rand, an amount equaling Kes. 1.25 million.
Police have launched investigations into the incidence.
