The head of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, was recorded in a video slapping a woman’s hand angrily in an attempt to free himself from her grip during a walkabout in St Peters Square on New Year’s Eve.
The pope was greeting some of the pilgrims at St Peter’s Square when he was pulled in a not-so-gentle manner by one pilgrim who held onto his hand and refused to let go of his hand.
A flash of anger was noticed on Pope Francis’ face and soon smacked the hand of the woman so as to free himself up. The video has since gone with many citing the pilgrim to be at fault.
Online users who have viewed the video have said that the pilgrim should have called the pope in a respectful manner instead of yanking his arm.
Pope Francis has since apologized for slapping the woman’s hand stating that he had lost his patience.
So many times we lose patience, even me, and I apologize for yesterday’s bad example
