The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) issued a letter to the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) dated November 4 notifying it of intention to revoke the recognition agreement in two months.
TSC Chief Execvutive, Dr Nancy Macharia, says the union does not have the majority of teachers employed by the commission in its register and therefore cannot be recognized as a union.
This notice will see the commission terminating the 51-year old agreement with the union in the coming two months.
Should the agreement be terminated, KNUT would lose its power to bargain on behalf of its teachers.
This is another blow to Wilson Sossion after the commission terminated his contract as a teacher last week.
It was done through a Gazette notice dated October 29, which blacklisted Sossion from teaching in any school, public or private.
