Police in Nakuru County is currently holding a 16-year-old boy suspected of killing his 24-year-old neighbour over a Ksh 50 debt.
Vincent Kiprotich is said to have armed himself with a bow and arrows and shot Nicholas Kipkemoi in the neck after an argument. Nicholas was rushed to the Keringet Hospital but was later transferred to Olenguruone Hospital and later the Molo hospital due to the severity of the injury.
Doctors at Molo Hospital were wary of operating on him forcing his family to transfer him to the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital in Eldoret. Doctors there discovered that the arrow had struck his spinal column but he succumbed to injuries on Friday morning.
Nicholas’ body was moved to the mortuary of the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital. His uncle, Richard Mahiga, has blamed the proliferation of illicit brew at the Ukwala area and the entire Bararget as the cause of the tragedy.
