Police Issue Arrest Warrant For Nyeri Deputy Speaker

Police in Nyeri County have issued an arrest warrant against Nyeri Deputy Speaker, Samuel Kariuki, who was caught on camera assaulting youth.

Samuel, who is also the Ruring’u Ward Member of County Assembly (MCA), is allied to the Tanga Tanga wing and was caught beating up a young man while other locals cheered him on. This happened when the two factions of Tanga Tanga and Kieleweke clashed at Giakanja Boys Secondary School.

Central Regional Commissioner Wilfred Nyagwanga has confirmed that all those who were involved in Sunday’s clash will be arrested and taken to court.

10 people have been arrested following the chaos which erupted prior to a fundraiser where Deputy President William Ruto was the chief guest.
