PHOTOS: Siaya Priest Who Tested Positive For COVID-19 Giving Out the Sacrament

Images of the Siaya Priest Father Richard Onyango Oduor, who tested positive for COVID-19, have emerged online.

The Rome-based priest landed in the country on March 11, 2020, and conducted a mass at Holy Family Catholic Church in Nairobi’s Utawala area. New images now show him giving out the sacrament to the congregants casually without any precautions.

He is reported to have spent the night in Nairobi County before travelling in an Easy Coach bus to Ugunja, Siaya County. It is here where he led a mass during the burial of a close relative on March 14.

Father Richard was tested positive on March 22, 2020. The government is now tracing people he came into contact with since he landed into the country from Rome, Italy.

Siaya County Commissioner Michael Ole Tialal said in a press conference that health staff have been dispatched to Ambira and Lwak mission centres where there are a number of Catholic nuns who are suspected to have interacted with the clergyman.
