Images of the coronavirus isolation ward at Mbagathi Hospital have finally been shared on social media.
Very little was known about the isolation ward other than the assurance from the Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe. Many have been speculating that there have been more confirmed cases than the government has been announcing.
One patient who was isolated at the ward has finally unveiled the curtain on the situation there. The patient, Kara, was admitted at the hospital on suspicion of having the coronavirus after being in contact with Kilifi Deputy Governor Gideon Saburi.
In a long thread on Twitter, Kara narrates the experience of being isolated at Mbagathi Hospital. Future patients are advised to carry all their personal effects when they are admitted in isolation as no visitors are allowed in the area.
Kara’s only complaint during his stay at the ward is being served with cold tea. It is also noted that most people being admitted for testing are below 40 years old and caution is given for people to sanitize their hands.
Kara was fortunate enough to have tested negative and was released after spending 4 days there.
