A Kenyan of Asian descent has died after landing into the country on Friday and is said to have symptoms similar to those of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
The man, whose identity wasn’t revealed, flew from India and was admitted to a private hospital in Nairobi County before his demise.
Reports from local media stations indicate that the man arrived home but was then rushed to hospital when his body temperature rose. He later died hours later at the Intensive Care Unit ward.
The Ministry of Health is reported to have taken samples of the man to establish what exactly he was ailing from. Officers said that he could have exhibited similar symptoms to those of the coronavirus but may have not contracted the disease.
This report comes after the Health Ministry launched the Coronavirus isolation facility at Mbagathi District Hospital on Friday. Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said that the facility was not only an isolation camp but would also serve as a treatment centre.
