Othuol Othuol’s body was today taken to the Kenya National Theatre for his first funeral service before being transported to Siaya for his burial ceremony. The late comedian Ben Maurice Onyanga, popularly known by his stage name Othuol Othuol, passed on while receiving treatment at the Kenyatta National Hospital.
The comedian’s body was today transported from Chiromo mortuary for its first stopover at the Kenya National Theatre Tree Yard, where the departed Othuol kick started his career. The Comedians In Kenya Society chairman Ken Waudo stated that the stop at the theatre will serve as the comedian’s first funeral service. The former Aunty Boss actor will then be transported to Ndere in Alego where his body will be buried.
“We would like to thank all friends, family and fans who stood with us, as well as all the entertainment fraternity, more so comedians, with a special mention to Churchill and Jalang’o for their immense support and being on the frontline to mourn greatly our colleague. Also political leaders who came in handy,” said Waudo.
Othuol’s burial committee managed to raise Ksh 1 million that will foot all the funeral expenses. They maintained that the burial will be held in compliance with the strict Covid-19 protocols.
