Nandi senator Samson Cherargei is receiving treatment at St Luke Hospital, Eldoret after he was involved in a Friday night road accident.

The rituals were meant to protect the DP from bad omen and bad political mojo.

The reports further indicated Ruto was doused with milk and honey from a special traditional gourd by elders dressed in wild animal skins.

The elders who held prayers and offered sacrifices on a nearby hill are popularly known as Orkoiyot.

They included Christopher arap Agui, Lawrence Nganai and Stephen arap Tormoi.

The DP was accompanied by Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago, Nandi’s Stephen Sang, MPs Caleb Kositany (Soy), Julius Meli (Tinderet) and Samson Cherargei (Nandi senator).

Others were Cornely Serem (Aldai) and Wilson Kogo (Chesumei).
