The IG, during one of his many #EngageTheIG sessions on twitter, assured a concerned Kenyan that he will ensure security is enhanced within the Nairobi CBD and other parts of the city.
”I have taken note of insecurity within CBD. Action will be taken and security enhanced,” the IG stated.
The cases of unsuspecting Kenyans being robbed of money after withdrawals from banks and Mpesa outlets have been on the rise. Two criminals were recently lynched in Machakos after they robbed Ksh 350,000 from a 60-year-old woman. The lady, flanked by her husband, had withdrawn Ksh 500,000 and used Ksh 150,000 before the predating criminals came calling.
The criminals trailed the old lady, who had boarded a boda boda after being dropped off by a matatu in Kaloleni. They used their car to intercept the motorbike and grabbed the old lady driving off with her on their back seat. Irate boda boda riders chased the criminals intercepting them at a nearby shopping center. The suspects were ejected from the car and beaten to a pulp. Two of the suspects died on the spot, while the third managed to escape.
