Moses Kuria fined KSh 75,000 for flouting COVID-19 protocols

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria has been set free by a Kiambaa Court.

The lawmaker alongside 30 others were arrested on Monday evening, April 12 for violating Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 precautionary measures.

Then court ordered the MP to pay KSh 75,000 in fine or serve eight months in jail.

Moments after his arrest, the MP through his Facebook account said;

“Arrested! Held at Karuri Police Station. Kiambu Court tomorrow. Still- #MeneMeneTekel #FinishAndGo,” he captioned the photos.

The vocal MP appeared before the court virtually on Tuesday, April 13, alongside his fellow offenders.

The government had banned social gatherings and directed restaurants and bars to only provide take-away services.
