The first day of Moi’s body viewing by the public ended after the late former president was escorted back to Lee Funeral Home.
The body was laid at Parliament buildings on Saturday morning President Kenyatta leading the nation in paying last respects to the goner.
The body both to and from the parliament was in the company of military officers.
The casket draped in the national flag was towed to the funeral home for preservation before the viewing resumes on Sunday.
Moi will be interred on Wednesday, February 12 at his home in Kabarak, Nakuru County.

Kenyans from all walks of life trooped the parliament buildings on Saturday to view the remains of the country’s second president who passed on on Tuesday of February 4 while hospitalized at Nairobi Hospital.
The main funeral service will be held on Tuesday 11 at Nyayo Stadium when President Kenyatta will also lead the nation in bidding farewell to the country’s long-serving president.
ODM leader Raila Odinga’s absence on the first procession was noted. The leader is currently out of the country on official assignments.
The viewing of the body to continue on Sunday morning till evening. Monday will be the last day the late former president is taken to parliament buildings for public viewing.
