Miguna Miguna will not be appearing for K24 TV’s Punchline tonight over what he says the organizers tried to “compromise his stand on pertinent issues”.
“I have cancelled my appearance after your last minute attempt to dilute the important national issues I had agreed to discuss,” Miguna wrote on Facebook.
Miguna was expected on primetime to unleash his attacks on what he constantly terms as ‘despotic dispensation’ sitting in Nairobi.
Among the issues he would debate on include graft and spotlighting on the perceived quagmire that he thinks has been seated on by President Kenyatta.
The dissident has faulted political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi for trying to shift the course of the planned interview to issues that he (Miguna) got no interest on.
“I am not going to be party to Mutahi Ngunyi’s schemes…I consider this a material change in what we had discussed and an attempt to cause unnecessary distractions and drama that would irreparably undermine what I stand for,” Miguna wrote.
Mutahi Ngunyi savagely got back, accusing Miguna of being pro-drama and that he needs the former for political mentorship.
To that, below was Miguna’s response:
“Come and debate me on Anne Kiguta’s punchline instead of hiding inside Anne Waiguru’s skirt. I’m ready to reduce you to dust tonight,” Miguna said.
Now that Miguna will not be boarding, the program has been rescheduled and it is Ndegwa Njiru that will be appearing.
Njiru was the counsel that represented the Kirinyaga County MCAs before the Senate committee that was tasked to look into Governor Waiguru’s impeachment.
