Man who disappeared on eve of his wedding resurfaces, cites stress

A man who disappeared on the eve of his wedding has resurfaced saying he was stressed.

On April 10, 2021, Christabella Banturaki and Patrick Mbusa Kabagambe were set to tie the knot in the presence of their friends and family but it never happened thanks to Patrick.

The couple was set to exchange the vows at the All Saints Cathedral Nakasero, before heading to Silver Springs Hotel for the reception.

However, the wedding did not happen after Patrick disappeared on Friday evening, April 9.

On Saturday, the groom could not be traced forcing both families to cancel the wedding and launch a search for the groom immediately.

Clueless guests made their way to the church to witness the union only for them to go back home.

The bride, Christabella filed a missing person report at Kasangati Police Station, Wakiso District.

Two days later, the groom resurfaced and presented himself at Wandegeya Police Station in Kampala.

Confirming the incident, Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police said Patrick was stress and did not want to marry Christabella.

“He said he was stressed. He didn’t have a reason why he didn’t want to marry Ms Banturaki. We later released him on police bond as investigations continue,” he said.

He added that they are waiting for the lady to record a statement with the police to determine the next step in the case.
