One man in Kasarani Sub County has been accused of injuring his six-year-old son while attempting to kill his own father.
Ezekiel Kariuki Ngángá hit his son with a crowbar at his home in Kiwanja shopping centre consequently injuring the child on the chin.
It is reported that Ezekiel had threatened to kill his father James Ngángá for denying him money. Three days prior to the attempted assault, he demanded money which saw the father calling his sister to counsel his son.
He went to his bedroom on April 7, 2020, and returned with a crowbar then proceeded to charge at his father.
Ezekiel’s wife Agnes Waitherero intervened and grabbed Kariuki before the crowbar landed on his father. She was injured on the left shoulder as she struggled to save her father-in-law.
This saw the father running to hide at a police post. He didn’t know that his grandson was injured until Waitherero arrived at the same police post to report about the serious injuries.
Ezekiel denied the charges before Makadara Senior Principal Magistrate Angelo Kithinji. His father, wife, and wife have been listed as key witnesses and will be remanded until all three testify against him.
