Kenneth Murithi, a Kenyan Athlete has died after getting involved in an accident along Nyeri-Nyahururu road.
Murithi was serving in the Kenya Defence Forces before dying in the deadly Carnage after his saloon car engaged a Toyota land cruiser in a head-on collision. The land cruiser was transporting tourists to Nyeri when it met the saloon car.
Three tourists were injured and were taken to Nyahururu County Referral Hospital where they are still recuperating from.
Murithi carried the national flag during the 21st Africa Senior Athletics Championships in 2018 when he participated in the 3000 metres steeplechase.
Nyandarua North police commander Timon Odingo said Murithi lost control his car ramming into the land cruiser, dying on spot.
Investigations into the accident is currently ongoing. Murithi’s body currently lies at the Nyahururu County Referral Hospital.
