James Nyoro Appoints a female Deputy Governor

Kiambu County Governor James Nyoro has appointed a female deputy on Thursday one week after the court allowed him to appoint one.

Nyoro has appointed Caroline Waithera Ndungu as his new deputy governor. Caroline served as the Marketing and Corporate Relations Director of Absa Bank PLC Kenya (formerly known as Barclays).

Ferdinard Waititu tried to stop Nyoro from appointing a deputy while his case that challenged his impeachment is still pending.

Justice James Makau declined the request stating that Waititu had not informed the court what kind of prejudice he would suffer should Nyoro appoint a deputy.

This order came after the court also denied Waititu’s request to stop James Nyoro from being appointed as the new governor of Kiambu county.
