Kiranyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has spoken of her misfired impeachment hours after the senate committee threw out the proposal by 23 Kirinyaga MCAs.
In the acquittal done in the governor’s favor, the committee led by Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala found the allegations lodged against Waiguru as unsubstantiated and with no ground to favor her removal from office.
The governor has weighed into the matter and now urges the MCAs to own up their failures and play their roles away from shenanigans motivated by politics.
She has said the completion of her impeachment process today marks a remarkable and historic victory to be raved not only by her but also by the people of Kirinyaga County.
She says the ouster was ill-intended and with no substance. She nonetheless chooses to forgive the ones that had the determination of getting her out of the office.
She has pointed out that the main reason for her woes is her staunch support for BBI and everything that came along with the handshake.
She emphasizes her zealous support for the aforementioned remains unaltered as she is “committed to seeing the betterment of the country as a whole”, something that the BBI advocates for.
The governor has however called the county MCAs on board for cooperation towards service delivery in the county.
“My government remains ready and willing to work with like-minded individuals committed to the service of Kirinyaga residents,”
