How Rashid Echesa Mastered The Art Of Winning Over The State After Series Of Tribulations

Former Sports CS Rashid Echesa has had a reprieve after a Nairobi-seating court ordered his confiscated cars and firearms be returned to him.

This comes hours after the ex-CS pronounced himself on the matter of the recent changes that have been taking place in the Jubilee Party.

Echesa faulted William Ruto, a perceived ally of his, for failing to come to the rescue of his footsoldiers in Jubilee when the party directed its purge solely on them.

“I saw the Deputy President William Ruto at State House and I thought he had decided to go and fight for his allies, and unfortunately, he didn’t raise a Voice on the fate of Mr. Washiali and others who have been fighting for him. Such a SHAME!” Echesa told a local daily.

Given that Echesa and Ruto have been bosom friends, the statement shows a big deal of betrayal, Echesa seemingly coming to grasp the art of pleasing the state when there is need for a favor.

Ruto is currently at loggerheads with President Kenyatta and that has translated into problems to those that choose to dance to his tune. If not, then one is perceived as a government ardent and they tend to secure positions among other favors.

Having expressed frustrations on his impounded cars being held, Echesa thought it wise to befriend the “system” so as to be at ease and in a way get cushioned against the tribulations that come with being far from the state.

To ascertain the above is the development that followed after Echesa accused Ruto and somewhere termed him a failure. The development is that the court ordered the DCI to return his firearm and release his Range Rover as well.

This makes good the assertion that Echesa wouldn’t mind being part of the dream team in the politics of western Kenya as the 2022 clock continues to tick and he thus ought to walk with the key players from the region who are in favor with President Kenyatta.

Last week, COTU SG Francis Atwoli had confirmed he had been in talks with Echesa and he had chosen to “reform”, meaning he could be getting back with President Uhuru Kenyatta, his reappointment back to the government not becoming a surprise should it happen.

Echesa was earlier this year arrested and held in connection with a fake arms deal that was allegedly brokered in the ODP. The said tender led to the murder of the late Kenei who was a sergeant stationed at the ODP.
