Heartbreaking: Missing 2-Year-Old Boy Found Dead in Alligator’s Mouth, Father Charged with Murder

According to St. Petersburg Police Chief Anthony Holloway, a missing 2-year-old boy named Taylen Mosley was found dead in the mouth of an alligator in Dell Homes Park, Florida, just miles from his mother’s apartment. Taylen’s mother, Pashun Jeffery, was found dead with multiple stab wounds in her apartment on Thursday afternoon.

In a news conference on Friday, Holloway said that Taylen’s father, Thomas Mosley, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and is currently in custody for both deaths.

Officers spotted an alligator in Dell Homes Park with an object in its mouth and fired a single round at the reptile. The alligator dropped the object, which was found to be Taylen’s body intact. “We didn’t want to find him this way, but at least we can bring some closure to that family now,” Holloway said.

Thomas Mosley was checked into a hospital on Friday with cuts to his hands and arms, and was later booked into the Pinellas County jail. Mosley did not want to speak to authorities and requested an attorney, although it is unclear whether he has obtained legal representation yet.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not released information on Taylen’s cause of death or how he ended up in the park.
