Harmonize Reacts to Embarambamba’s Unique Dance Stunts

Tanzanian singer Harmonize has sparked a debate after mentioning singer Embarambba while speaking on uniqueness of African music.

Speaking in a popular entertainment joint, the singer noted that it is time for East African artistes to produce their original content than copying from others.

“Something you need to understand is that music is about culture, they have their own culture and we have our own. We can’t just stop singing our Bongo Fleva and start emulating their style of music when they can’t try our music,” said the singer.

On Embarambamba’s dance stunts, Harmonize said height find himself on a global stage due to his uniqueness.

“We are supposed to keep pushing our identity. If you keep pushing music has a way of rewarding you, you can be shocked that Embarambamba at the end of the day becomes the one representing us on the international stage,” Harmonize said.

This came months after Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) boss Ezekiel Mutua has raised concerns about musician Christopher Musioma, alias Embarambamba’s stunts in his music videos.

In a statement on his Twitter page, the KFCB boss said the gospel artiste is endangering his life with the kind of stunts he performs.

Mutua further urged his fans to stop cheering him as they might cheer him on to his own destruction.

“I have a feeling that Embarambara is a danger to himself and that his fans could be cheering him to self destruction. Is this style sustainable? Is it even sane? Unless he’s super human, this guy will hurt himself. Someone please stop him!” Wrote Mutua.
