Former Star Makena of Real Househelps of Kawangware Now Running a Business

  • Makena revealed that she decided to venture in business after quitting acting

  • She also disclosed she is still into acting only that she decided to go behind the scenes where she does a lot of writing
  • The lass is not only an actress but also a Computer Science graduate from Kenyatta University

Former Star of Real Househelps of Kawangware (TRHK) actress, Kendi Kinyua, alias Makena has ventured into a new business after leaving the show.

The talented actress is now into selling charcoal briquettes and also runs a hotel which is her source of income. 

In a video shared on Faith Mumbi’s YouTube channel, she visited the former actress who shared her journey after quitting TV. 

Makena revealed that she was born and raised in Isiolo county before she joined Kenyatta University for higher learning. 

According to the Meru beauty, she started acting after joining Kenyatta University where she studied Computer Science. 

The lass has been in programs like Machachari and Tahidi High before later joining TRHK which brought her to the limelight. 

“I still sell charcoal briquettes and run this hotel here at Mirema and as you can see, this is my cafe,” she said. 

The talented actress also revealed she is still into filmmaking but ventured into writing which simply means she is always behind the scene. 

Makena added she has been part of producing a documentary called How It Happens. 

The actress advised women to work hard and earn a living without relying on anyone. 

Sharing what she has been through while undertaking her daily hustle, the actress said she was once recorded by a fan while delivering charcoal in town. 

According to her, the fan was kinda restless as she did the recording of her and her client in Nairobi.

Makena revealed that the ordeal was annoying to her and undermining her for what she was doing. 

“One day I was delivering charcoal briquettes to a client in town and I bumped into a fan. While waiting to deliver the order, the fan started recording me secretly. She was acting restless and my client was quick to notice,” she said.
