Former CITAM Bishop David Oginde Reveals Sh170 Million Net Worth During Government Job Grilling

Nominee for the position of Chairperson of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Bishop David Oginde, appeared before the National Assembly Justice and Legal Affairs Committee for vetting on April 5, 2023. As reported by the Kenyan press, during the vetting process, Bishop Oginde disclosed his net worth of Sh170 million.

The Committee, chaired by Tharaka MP Gitonga Murugara, is following Standing Order 45 and section 8 of the Public Appointments (Parliamentary Approval) Act, 2012 to consider presidential nominations.

Bishop Oginde was nominated by President William Ruto to succeed Archbishop (Emeritus) Dr Eliud Wabukala as the chairperson of the EACC. He was one of the three individuals shortlisted by the Public Service Commission, alongside former Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana and Amani Komara.

According to President Ruto, Bishop Oginde is well-respected both at home and abroad for his integrity, forthrightness, and tireless efforts towards promoting ethics and virtue in society.

Bishop Oginde is the former Presiding Bishop of Christ is the Answer Ministries (CITAM) and former Chancellor of Pan Africa Christian (PAC) University. He holds a PhD in Organizational Leadership from Regent University School of Business and Leadership, USA, and a Master’s Degree in Leadership from Pan Africa Christian University.
