Former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri has emerged with a new political outfit labeled The Service Party of Kenya (TSP).
Kiunjuri, who has for a while been off the public limelight after his firing from the cabinet has vouched for the party saying TSP will be grassroots national party pushing for the interests of the ordinary citizen.
“TSP members and officials have carefully listened to Kenyans and have made the commitment to bring a platform that will be unequivocal about service delivery to our people. The Service Party of Kenya wants to be a grassroots national party that will not only be the voice of mwananchi wa kawaida but also that will approach politics differently,” the ex-cs said while launching the party in Nairobi.
Among the priorities of the party according to Kiunjuri include food insecurity, unemployment, poor access to the basics of life including affordable healthcare, clean water, and a general feeling of abandonment.
He said, above all, The Service Party of Kenya will be pushing the government to provide interventions on the adverse effects of COVID-19 before any political agenda.
“TSP believes that Kenya will change dramatically over the next decade. We have the opportunity to put together and ensure those changes are fair, inclusive, sustainable and will positively impact our shared destiny,” said Kiunjuri.
