DP William Ruto has threatened to trouble the BBI wave if it will not be championing for the interests of the common wananchi.
The DP said when he was addressing multitudes along the Mumias-Kakamega road after attending a fundraiser in Mumias.
“We will be attending the BBI launch on Monday. We are not going to be intimidated and belittled. Anything to do with constitutional changes touches on all Kenyans and not specific leaders. We want to have a conversation that has everyone on board. They should not tell us about not stopping reggae. If it is not about the common mwananchi then the reggae will have to stop,” the DP said amid applause.
He further warned the proponents of BBI against advancing their agenda through Kenyans without involving them.
“They should not force the BBI on us. We will not be coerced into supporting it if does not cater for the economy and our needs. Kenya belongs to every citizen,” he added.
The report is set to be launched on October 26, President Uhuru Kenyatta alongside former premier Raila Odinga already drumming up support for it.
Ruto with his camp is torn between opposing and supporting the initiative giving out ultimatums in the event that he chooses to play along with the proponents.
