DP Ruto Dismisses Claims of New Coalition in the Works

Deputy President William Ruto has rubbished claims of Jubilee Party merging into a newer political outfit that would see him being left out in the cold.

His response comes after reports of senior party officials allegedly holding private meetings to discuss ways of taming the deputy president.

Problems began when the president, through Secretary-General Raphael Tuju made a move to effect changes in the National Management Committee. This was seen as a deliberate move to initiate wrangles in the party.

A private meeting was later held by Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe, ODM Leader Raila Odinga and COTU boss Francis Atwoli. The three are said to have discussed plans to frustrate DP Ruto’s 2022 presidential ambitions.

Murathe has been vocal about the formation of a new alliance that would leave out the deputy president and ruin his chances at being president.

Ruto responded to those claims terming them as “propaganda peddled by desperados seeking ragtag ethnic coalitions”.

Jubilee fraternity should ignore propaganda peddled by desperados seeking ragtag ethnic coalitions. Our progressive constitution vest power in party organs not personalities.Jubilee the governing party has no room for selfish evil experiments meant to benefit brokers & their ilk.
