Mohamed Ratib popularly Munai General has broken his silence after news emerged that he had been involved in an accident and was appealing for help in offsetting his medical bill.
The Radio Citizen presenter cum funnyman had been admitted at the Aga Khan hospital following an undated accident along Murang’a Road in Nairobi, the news getting to his fans through his colleagues at the station.
“Munai General au Mohammed Ratib kwenye kipindi cha Inspekta Mwala muite Abdi alihusika kwenye ajali mbaya ya barabarani wiki kadhaa zimepita na anahitaji msaada wako kuchangisha shilingi milioni 2.5 za kukidhi matibabu. Msaidie panapoweza kupitia maelezo kwenye hii Poster. Ahsanteni!” Geoffrey Mwamburi.
The presenter was subjected to almost five surgeries, his stay at the facility shooting the medical bill to inconvenient amounts exceeding his conventional cover. He for that sought the help of his fans and friends and other well-wishers in settling the accruing bill at Aga Khan.
Munai had not been on the radio for some long his fans mistaking his absence for a normal leave. His wife was the one behind the initiative, saying his cover had only catered for kes 1 million, a pretty far cry from the overall 2.5 million.
The initiative seems to have been quite fruitful as the presenter has been discharged and is currently recuperating from home.
“It’s a wonderful thing Munai general is out of the hospital now thanks sana kwa wote Jamaa na marafiki ambao wamechangia kwa vyovyote vile,” Tina Ogal.
Munai also acts as Abdi in Inspekta Mwala which airs on Citizen TV.
