Ceasefire, President Kenyatta In a Warm Embrace With Millie Odhiambo – Photos

Patience Johnson probably foresaw the inconsistent developments that always rock the world of politics as time moves. He coined his widely known belief that in politics there exist no permanent friends neither enemies.
Many instances have made the assertion -by Johnson- good, the case studies being here at home. Many a time political nemesis have reunited with their initial foes, the driving force always being the common interests -selfish as such that bind them.
President Uhuru Kenyatta -together with ODM leader Raila Odinga was gracing a retreat for legislators -sourced from the senate and the national assembly- in Naivasha where they were deliberating on the way forward regarding the BBI report.
The attendees happened to be the proponents of the document which has recently had dissenting views from DP William Ruto and his surrogates.
The MPs in unison vowed to support the document and push for a referendum that will see the proposals therein come to pass.
“We have gathered here as Members of Parliament numbering nearly 300 from the National assembly and Senate to express our unequivocal support for the BBI,” James Orengo read a statement.
What however stood out as the two-day team building for the pro-BBI MPs came to its end was the newly found camaraderie between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo.

The MP had had bile on the president, not once or twice derogating him publicly, killing any imagination of the two coming to work together at any time.
In 2013 and 2017, Raila and Uhuru contested in the presidential vote that saw the former losing, that initiating a firm political animosity not just between them but also among their respective cronies.

The MPs in Raila camp were determined to trouble Uhuru’s leadership in its first term, the likes of Millie Odhiambo employing all the possible means no matter weird to challenge the government and any legislation pushed for by the same government.
The rivalry came to its peak in the 2017 vote, Millie and her company exuding bitterness by calling the president names, devaluing his office, and ridiculing the whole process that saw his re-election.
Thanks to the 2018 handshake and pact between Uhuru and Raila, the once political extremists in Raila’s yard have loosened their stances on President Kenyatta, finding a new dalliance in him. These days, to Babu Owino, President Kenyatta is the best president in the world.
Millie Odhiambo on her part has recently been finding it necessary and important to have the president respected. Junet Mohamed has become the number one defender of the president’s office.

The point is, you, a blind ardent supporter will always be on your own. It is prettily a tale of the monkeys being the same, only exchanging habitat when they deem it convenient. It is not worth dying for these politicians. What if a Raila-Ruto truce happens in the near future?

As the new month of November began, the embattled Nairobi governor Mike Sonko offered some advice that ought to be seen by everyone if not all.
“If you want to live long, don’t take Kenyan politicians seriously. NEVER EVER….that is my humble piece of advice,” Mike Sonko.
