Celebrated musician Bahati has been accused of stealing his newly released hit song ‘Pete Yangu’ ft Nadia Mukami from a Rwandese musician Butera Knowles.
Butera released her song ‘Peke Yangu’ five years ago. A online user @its_shady_047 made the observation comparing the two songs that he opines bears striking semblance in flow and melody.
‘Some will say ooh haters wana hate sijui nini, Look, you can’t be stealing tracks plus the melody the way they are then come here to tell us sh#t repeat, I expected a lot from Bahati. Views utapata tena mob sana lakini I’m disappointed sana na Bahati. We are coming with a Bing Bang, so far the only male musicians doing real music in Kenya are Otile Brown, Madini Classic, Willy Paul and Khaligraph Jones,’ his post read.

‘Pete Yangu’ is one of the best songs in Bahati’s recently launched album. The song was also the Bahati’s first collaboration with African popstar Nadia Mukami. The song, which has already amassed 629,000 views on Youtube, is now at the risk of being subject to a copyright violation if Butera launches a formal claim.
