The last 24 hours has had Kenya record 761 more cases of covid 19 the country’s total positive cases heaping to 52,612.
During a presser on Thursday, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe informed that a total of 4,830 samples had been tested within the 24 recording 678,000 as gthe number of samples tested since the advent of the diseaes in March.
The CS also noted that 1,084 patients have been admitted following Covid-19 infections with 35 being in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and 14 on supplementary oxygen.
The number of fatalities trose to 964 after 14 more patients succumbed to the disease.
CS Kagwe is hopeful that his ministry partnering with the county governments will be instrumental in winning against the dreaded virus.
“The success of the health sector as one of the government’s Big 4 Agenda is pegged on the collaboration between the national and county governments. We must not forget our responsibilities, we must enhance access to health services for all Kenyans,” he said..
He lauded the counties for achieving strides as far as the fight aginst the ailment is concerned.
“My plea to you as the drivers of health in your counties, particularly those who have not attained these targets is that you deal with this matter as expeditiously as you can… please do not let your county down,” he added.
The positivity rate has been rising in a span of two months, now stanidng at 15 percent being an upsurge from 13 percent which as being reported in July.
